The Weight of Pretending

Because there arose no little dissension and debate by Paul and Barnabas with them, it was decided that Paul, Barnabas, and some of the others should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and presbyters about this question.    Acts 15:2

1.3.18 The Weight of Pretending 2I’m not quite sure why, but I always thought I was supposed to have all the answers. It didn’t come from an arrogant place of thinking I knew it all; it came from an insecure place of feeling stupid when I was clueless. It branched out to all areas of my life: current events, career, social interactions, motherhood, you name it. I wasn’t completely ignorant. In fact, I graduated college with a high grade point average. It’s just that it’s impossible to know everything; yet I wasn’t confident enough to admit that.
