I am blessed that we have many great ones to choose from but one of my top favorites was my “Last Supper of Gluten”. I had been diagnosed with Celiac Disease and was about to give up Gluten for the rest of my life. Scott surprised me with a limo and we had a progressive dinner at 3 of my favorite restaurants. We had delicious fried calamari and other appetizers at one restaurant, beer with bread and pasta at another restaurant and fondue for dessert at our final restaurant. It was so much fun and I was sick for WEEKS but it was worth it to have that magical night filled with gluten and LOVE from my husband.

Congrats on being published again, Claire!
We were a young, new couple and had just moved to Phoenix. We were totally unfamiliar with the area and knew no one. One Friday night, he told me to get in the car because we were going out. We drove to Mesa and it wasn’t until I was in the bathroom at the venue that I overheard someone say “I can’t wait to hear Muse play!” Though I (at least claim to) hate surprises, I really loved that he went out of his way to make the night special. We savored the evening under the stars (it was at an outdoor ampitheater) listening to one of the only bands we both enjoy. Such a happy memory!

Congratulations Claire!
My favorite date with Rob was a dinner at my brother David’s Condo for Rob’s birthday. David helped me set up a table in his living room by the fireplace. I made a mix tape, lit candles, used china and table linens. When we got there Rob thought we were hanging out with David and Lori, Dan and Ang etc., but it was just us. David was on his way back to drop off 2 our of favorite meals from the Outback. We sat and talked for hours about what a future together would look like. 🙂
Not sure I can compete with Jess – what an awesome date night!!!!

Hmm… Not sure any of our dates compare to the awesome surprises already mentioned but one of my nicest memories are of a date we had shortly after we graduated college. First we took a walk in a park in the winter with icicles on the trees and a wedding party showed up. Then we went to see ‘Untamed Heart’ (love that movie!). We ended off the day with Sunday dinner at my Grandmother’s house which was always one of my favorite places to be!
So proud of you Claire! Can’t wait to read your stories!

Congratulations! My favorite date is my first date with Rob. We lived 2 hours apart and I made him wait 3 weeks for that first date. We talked on the phone during those 3 weeks. He drove to me and planned things based on stuff I had mentioned liking. We went on a scavenger hunt hike because I told him I was expecting an adventure. The date lasted about 9 hours. From that point until our marriage a year later we saw each other almost every weekend thanks to some great friends who let me stay on their futon every week.
